Learn how to Burn CD’s for Free using InfraRecorder.

September 5, 2008 by Pdub

I was on osalt.com and ran into this little app that pretty much replaces Nero. I am a big fan of Nero, but in the spirit of open source I decided to seek out something similar. I have found that in InfraRecorder.

Watch the video InfraRecorder, Say goodbye to Nero to learn where to find it, download, install and use it to burn your first .iso image of Ubuntu.

I’ll be posting a later video on how to install Ubuntu linux into a virtual machine so that you can try it out without screwing around too much with you PC. Last thing you need is to have something break when your intentions are so good.

For best results allow video to download fully.

I just registered and watched your video on InfraRecorder burn cd.

What I wanted to watch and learn from was your video on InfraRecorder ISO image. It is one of the subheading at the top of this page, http://opensourceweekly.com/2008/09/learn-how-to-burn-cds-for-free-using-infrarecorder/

I am having a problem with InfraRecorder making an ISO file of dvds that I made of television shows and old videotapes using my Sylvania dvd recorders. For awhile, there was no problem with making ISO files and then burning the ISO file on a blank dvd disc.

Then I used InfraRecorder to burn cd disc copies of some music that I had burned on cd’s. After that, InfraRecorder would not make ISO files of my dvd discs. It said that the header file was not readable.

I thought I might have changed a setting or two; so I experimented with different settings. No luck. So, I have not been able to find out why InfraRecorder will no longer make an ISO file of any of my home-made dvd’s.

I uninstalled InfraRecorder. I downloaded the application again. Then, I installed the second install file of InfraRecorder. But, the application had the same problem.

I appreciate any constructive suggestions you might have. And/or, the url to your video on InfraRecorder on ISO image, which might help me solve the problem.
